In 2021, veteran climate comms leader Josh Garrett launched Redwood Climate Communications as a firm dedicated to climate progress that operates differently from the status quo PR agency model. Redwood was born as the first strategic communications firm that exclusively supports climate tech, climate nonprofit, and sustainability clients.

Since its founding, Redwood has steadily grown its team and client roster, working with companies and organizations from every corner of the climate ecosystem. We’ve developed corporate and product messaging for young companies, earned media coverage of investment rounds ranging from $1.5 million to $220 million, secured television, radio, and web video appearances, and landed high-value speaking opportunities for clients.

Redwood’s flexible service model anchored with a core team of seasoned, versatile comms pros combined with a network of 38 contractor partners served 55 clients from 2021 to 2025. Redwood clients come from all sectors and sub-sectors of climate industries, and include large and small nonprofits and government agencies. Redwood has built strong, long-term relationships with dozens of clients, with the retainer clients staying under contract for an average of 30 months.
