Jimmy is a marketing, communications, and public relations specialist with a focus on clean energy and sustainability. He joined Redwood Climate Communications after 6.5 years working in-house as a Marketing and Communications Manager at Redaptive, an Energy-as-a-Service start-up. There he was in charge of public relations, external communications, customer marketing, and the company brand. Prior to Redaptive, Jimmy represented gaming clients like Blizzard, Capcom, Pokémon, EA, and Warner Bros. at 47 Communications and TriplePoint PR, while writing for a variety of publications as a journalist focused on nature, music, art, and environmental issues.
When he isn’t helping Redwood clients, he’s most likely working on a batch of homebrew, at an art show with his wife, biking, hiking, working on his house, or swimming in the ocean.
Climate interest and expertise: Jimmy grew up in the PNW backpacking, hiking, and loving the great outdoors… So, when he went to college, he decided to focus on climate change and environmentalism. He earned a combined major in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, and Journalism from Western Washington University’s College of the Environment, where he also served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Planet, Western’s environmentally focused student magazine. From then on, he has always been working in some capacity for environmental or sustainable causes. He loves to help distill complex topics into stories that are easy to grasp and make an impact for the earth.
Favorite outdoor place of tranquility: The Pacific Ocean from the beaches of the California coast to the Puget Sound.
